Ok, so I have Josefina bathing her hair in downy... when the hour is up I assume I rinse.. Correct? Any other tips would be very helpful right now. THANKS!!

Do you plan on steaming her hair afterwards? I normally leave in my doll's hair for 1 hour and then rinse. It takes a while to get all the downy out, though!

Depending on how bad her hair is, she can stay in for a lot longer then a hour. Just be sure to rinse really well. I comb the hair out after the dunk and shampoo. Then air dry. Hope that helps.

Massaging in a little baby oil afterwards but befor you rinse off the hair always helps. A dime sized drop should do.

I thought we had always been told that oil was bad for the doll's hair.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">If you don't wash it out yes!You might be thinking of scalp oil. Dolls get scalp oil in their hair when you brush them with a brush that has been used on a human. Then dirt sticks to the hair. Not ALL oil is bad, baby oil is good for doll hair. I wouldn't recommend using any other kinds of oil though.
